
The Junior Cougars defeated the Timbo Junior Tigers, 41-36, in the opening round of the Izard County Invitational Tournament. The Junior Cougars (5-2) were led by Benaiah Spray with 29 points. Brody Cottrell added 7 and Kane Johnson 5 for the Junior Cougars. The Junior Cougars advance to play Melbourne on Monday at 5 pm at Melbourne.


Congratulations to Molly Koelling for becoming the 11th National Board Certified Teacher in our school district history. The others are Tabby Cooper, TaKara Kinion, Kensey Wheat, Chelsea Phillips, Courtney Selph, Tony Booth, Vicky Norton, Meredith Cole, Eve Hatman, and retired teacher Hugh Chapman. We are very proud of the accomplishments of Molly and all our NBC teachers for the shining examples they are for our staff and students and their work in following our district motto of “Every student. Every day. Whatever it takes."

Izard County After School Program is blooming with teamwork! 🌼 Our 3rd grade students lent a helping hand to the 1st graders, getting flower beds prepped for fall planting. It’s so inspiring to see the collaboration and hard work from these young gardeners! 🐾











Cougars defeated Subiaco Academy, 54-53, in the Barry Pruitt Hurricane Classic tonight! The Cougars (4-2) were led by Gabe Spray with 27 points. Sebastian Robbins added 10 points, Cash Arnhart 9, Kasen Black 7, and Benjamin Tuschak 1. The Cougars will play Paragould tomorrow at 2:30 PM.

It's National Special Education Day and we are so thankful to have an amazing team of directors, teachers, and aides helping PK-12th grade students!


Little Dribblers will practice on Wednesday, Dec. 4th, at the elementary gym. Practice will be from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM.


Join us for a fun morning of Breakfast with Santa! Bring the family for breakfast and get a visit and pictures with Santa himself. There will be plenty of other family-fun activities including ornament decorating, a Christmas STEM activity, letters to Santa, and maybe even some Christmas face painting! Student Council is very excited to bring this event to our school district, and we look forward to seeing many of our Cougar Nation families there!


Conference games on Tuesday, the Hurricane Classic in Jonesboro, and the first night of the Izard County Tournament will keep us busy in basketball this week!

Reminder! 5-12 grade Choir Concert tomorrow at 6:30pm in the Fine Arts Building.

The Izard County School District has been awarded a $2,500 Chevy Back to School Grant through Meadows Chevrolet. The grant funds will be used to provide educational opportunities such as STEM and After School activities for ICC students. High School Principal Billy McBride accepts the $2,500 donation to ICC students today from Andy Gunther of Meadows Chevrolet. Thank you, Meadows Chevrolet!

We are so proud of this group! They competed at the subarea Leadership Development Event today at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home campus. They have worked so hard to prepare for today. We had students compete in prepared speaking, extemporaneous speaking, job interview, creed speaking, and discussion meet. They made us proud! We had numerous Top 10 finishes and Whitley qualified to move on to compete at the Eastern District contest.
