Cougar Football Schedule Update
The October 20 home game vs Augusta has been moved to Thursday, October 19 at 7 PM, and there will only be a senior high game! The junior high game has been forfeited to ICC Junior Cougars by Augusta due to low numbers.
The Senior High Volleyball Tournament will take place at Quitman. ICC Lady Cougars are seeded #3 and will play at 6 PM on Tuesday. The Lady Cougars will play the winner of #6 Marshall and #7 Cotter. Go Lady Cougars!

Middle School Principal Sarah Burns and teachers Jana Rucker and Alicia Pepper recently visited White River School District in Buckley, WA. White River has many years of experience leading a successful professional learning community. During the visit, our staff members observed established collaborative team meetings and were provided with an in-depth look into the PLC process as a whole. We take pride in providing our staff with the support and resources needed in our journey to become a model professional learning community, because student learning is our top priority!
Lady Cougars won a big conference game on the road tonight! Lady Cougars defeated Yellville 3-2! Lady Cougars won 25-23, 24-26, 26-28, 25-22, and 15-13 to wrap up the #3 seed in the district tournament next week at Quitman! Lady Cougars finish the regular season with a 14-6 overall record and 11-5 conference record! Junior Lady Cougars fought hard but fell to Yellville in 3 sets, 21-25, 25-20, and 12-15.
Mighty Mite Football Teams swept Yellville tonight at home! 5/6 grade Cougars won 20-0 and 3/4 Cougars won 6-0!

Lady Cougars win a tough battle at home over Quitman tonight, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23, and 28-26! Lady Cougars improve to 13-7 overall and 10-5 in the conference. Junior Lady Cougars lose 25-23 and 25-13.

Cougars defeat the Midland Mustangs, 58-14, on the road to improve to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference! Junior Cougars jumped out to a 46-0 first quarter lead and won 54-20 to remain unbeaten on the season at 7-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference!

After School Program kindergartners built a new chair for the three bears to use after the students read the original Goldilocks fairytale and compared it to a different version of the story where the bears did the damage. Preschool students read the book Creepy Carrots and then built a fence to protect their carrot from the Coding Critter rabbit!
Congratulations to Izard County Middle School for being recognized as a 2023 School on the Move Toward Excellence by the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education!
The state award is in recognition of the middle school increasing their state test score by more than 6 points last year! Great job, students and staff!
