We are so proud of this group! They competed at the subarea Leadership Development Event today at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home campus. They have worked so hard to prepare for today. We had students compete in prepared speaking, extemporaneous speaking, job interview, creed speaking, and discussion meet. They made us proud! We had numerous Top 10 finishes and Whitley qualified to move on to compete at the Eastern District contest.
We've got games at home tonight! The Junior High teams face off against the Longhorns of Viola. The first game will begin at 5:00, and order of games is Junior Girls B, Junior Boys B, Junior Girls, Junior Boys.

Students in eighth and ninth grade English classes worked on one-pagers this week. Their goal was to visually represent different aspects of their novels so far. They analyzed theme, author's style, relationships among characters, relevance to today's world, symbolism, and much more. Grade 8 is reading The Outsiders, and grade 9 is reading Night. Stay tuned to see some of the most creative finished pieces!

Little Dribblers will practice on Wednesday, November 20, at the elementary gym. Practice will be from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
We had a great first week of basketball, and we are ready for week 2! The Cougars will play their first conference games of the season at Cotter on Friday, and the Senior Boys will finish off the week with a big game against Valley View on Saturday. Let's have another exciting week, Cougars!

The Barry Pruitt Hurricane Classic Senior Boys Basketball Tournament bracket has been released. The Cougars will play DeSmet Jesuit of St. Louis at 4 PM on December 5 in the opening round of the tournament at Jonesboro High School. Go Cougars!

ICC After School Program had a fun-filled day! Kindergarten students recited Five Little Pumpkins and found the rhyme in a book. 📖 They then got creative, using anything in the room to build a gate to keep their pumpkins in place—most chose Magna Tiles and tested different designs to keep those pumpkins from rolling away! 🎃 Meanwhile, our 4th and 5th graders took math outdoors with an exciting game of Sharks and Minnows to practice their multiplication skills! 🦈
Don't forget about tomorrow's Fall Festival at Izard County Stem Elementary... it's going to be a great time!
