The Izard County Cougars defeated the South Side Bee Branch Hornets, 71-32, on Senior Night. The Cougars (17-7 overall and 9-3 in the conference) were led by Gabe Spray with 23 points. Keaton Melton added 13 and Cash Arnhart 8. The Izard County Lady Cougars defeated the South Side Bee Branch Lady Hornets, 60-57. The Lady Cougars (17-7 overall and 8-4 in the conference) were led by Quinn Johnson with 19 points and Olivia Spray with 14. Makensie Yancey added 9 and Katie Orf 8. The Izard County Junior Lady Cougars edged the South Side Bee Branch Junior Lady Hornets, 40-38. The Junior Lady Cougars (6-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference) were led by Kallie Skidmore with 23 points and Reese Johnson with 7 points.

The Izard County Cougars jumped out to a 36-15 halftime lead over the Mount Vernon Enola Warhawks and cruised to a 60-48 victory. The Cougars (16-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference) were led by Jude Everett with 18 points. Gabe Spray added 16 and Cash Arnhart 9. The Mount Vernon Enola Lady Warhawks defeated the Izard County Lady Cougars, 50-41. The game was tied 35-35 after three quarters. The Lady Cougars (16-7 overall and 7-4 in the conference) were led by Makensie Yancey with 11 points, Tinley Bailey 9, and Quinn Johnson 8. The Izard County Junior Cougars defeated the Mount Vernon Enola Junior Warhawks, 45-34, to wrap up a second consecutive conference championship. The Junior Cougars (14-5 overall and 7-0 in the conference) won their 14th straight conference game over the last two seasons. The Junior Cougars were led by Braxton McCandlis with 15 points. Kade Yancey and Benaiah Spray added 12 each.

ICC will host games with South Side Bee Branch on Friday, January 26. The junior girls game will begin at 5 PM. We will recognize ICC Senior Athletes between the senior high basketball games. The Izard County Cougars defeated the Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds, 57-52, at Imboden in a key 2A-2 Conference game. The Cougars (15-7 and 7-3) were led by Gabe Spray with 16 points. Kasen Black added 13, Jude Everett 10, and Cash Arnhart 8. The Lady Cougars won 67-34 over the Lady Greyhounds. The Lady Cougars (16-6 and 7-3) were led by Quinn Johnson with 23 points. Makensie Yancey added 15, Olivia Spray 9, and Hollie Johnson 8. Kade Yancey’s three pointer from the corner at the buzzer lifted the Junior Cougars to a 44-43 victory over the Junior Greyhounds. The Junior Cougars trailed 43-41 with 6.6 seconds left before Braxton McCandlis drove the length of the court before passing back to Yancey in the corner for the game winner. It was Yancey’s second game winning three in three games for the Junior Cougars. The Junior Cougars (13-5) were led by Yancey and Benaiah Spray with 14 points each and Kane Jimenez added 6. The Junior Lady Cougars fell 49-14 to the Junior Lady Greyhounds.

The Cougars defeated the White County Central Bears, 58-45. The Cougars improve to 14-7 overall and 6-3 in the conference. The Lady Cougars defeated the Lady Bears, 57-19, to improve to 15-6 overall and 6-3 in the conference. The Junior Cougars won over the Junior Bears, 40-35, to clinch the No.1 seed in the district tournament and at least a share of the conference championship! The Junior Cougars are 12-5 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
