The Izard County Lady Cougars defeated the Melbourne Lady Bearkatz , 55-32, to win the Izard County Invitational Tournament at Calico Rock, 55-32, on January 28. The Lady Cougars, ranked No. 5 in the Class 1A by the Arkansas-Democrat-Gazette, were led by Sam King with 18 points and Kennedy Cooper with 17 points. Jen King and Harley Thomason added seven points each and Natalie Everett six points for the Lady Cougars. The Lady Cougars improved to 25-5 on the season.
