The Izard County Junior Cougars rallied from a 16 point second quarter deficit to force an extra period but fell, 54-47, in overtime, to the Hillcrest Junior Screamin' Eagles in the championship game of the Hillcrest Screamin' Eagle Tournament at Lynn on January 21. The Junior Cougars (15-4) were led by Coby Everett with 21 points and Caleb Faulkner with 18 points. Noah Everett added 9 points, Chase Orf 2 points, and Gunner Gleghorn 1 point. The Junior Cougars defeated Hillcrest earlier in the year to win the Bill McCurley Invitational Tournament at Imboden.
