The Izard County Cougars won the 3A-2A-1A East Conference Bowling Tournament held at Jonesboro on February 10. The Cougars won with a pin total of 3,626 with Riverside finishing second with a total of 3.455. Izard County, Riverside, Maumelle Charter (3,449), Conway Christian (3,226), and Conway St. Joseph (3,226) qualified for the state tournament to be held February 14 in Conway. Drake Gallion (595 series) and Cody Workman (535) led he way for the Cougars and were both named to the All Conference Team with a fourth and seventh place finish out of 62 bowlers in the tournament. Gallion had a 247 game and Workman had a high game score of 224 for the Cougars. Matthew Workman (466), Casey Hall (454), and Caleb Rushing (450), finished 14th, 17th, and 18th, respectively for the Cougars.Other Cougars contributors included Patrick King, Preston Grant, Zack Williams, and Cole Wallis. Tim Massey is the coach of the Izard County Bowling Team.

Congratulations to the Izard County Cougar's bowling team. I know that they really practiced hard for this event. They have a bright future ahead of them in this line of sport. Hopefully, they'll continue to bear the fruits of their practice and effort. I wish them luck and hope that they continue to produce some good results.
