Eve Hatman has been selected to be the new elementary principal at Izard County Elementary School at Violet Hill for the 2016-17 school year. Hatman has worked for the district for the past 13 years as an elementary and middle school teacher, a curriculum specialist, and as a middle school assistant principal. She holds a Master of Science in Education degree in Elementary Reading from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Mid-Level Education from Arkansas State University. She is licensed by the Arkansas Department of Education as building administrator, curriculum specialist, and as a mid-level teacher in the areas of language arts, social studies, science, and math. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher. Hatman replaces John Walker who will continue to work in the district as elementary media specialist, curriculum specialist, and grant writer. Superintendent Fred Walker said, “I am excited that we are able to promote Eve to the Elementary Principal position. She has a great academic and administrative background at Izard County and I know she will do well in this position. John has also done well for us as an elementary principal for the past 10 years and he has written numerous funded grants for the district during this time. He is ready for a different challenge and his new position will be a good fit for both him and the district. John’s passion has always been in curriculum, library media, and grant writing and his new position will be a good fit for him.”
