I am the gifted and talented coordinator and yearbook adviser for Izard County Consolidated.
I absolutely love being the Gifted and Talented Coordinator; I love watching the students learn new and exciting things about the world around them through research, experiments and field trips. They are so excited about knowledge that it makes me feel better about what the future holds for not just this nation, but the world.
As yearbook adviser, I oversee the class that puts out the yearbook. It's definitely a learning process for me, but I do feel I am getting better each year. Great photo opportunities happen all. the. time. Even if there is no yearbook student around, please feel free to take any interesting pictures with your smart phone. Now for a little history about me. I graduated from I.C.C. in 1999. After high school I went to Arkansas State University. While at ASU I worked on The Herald, which was wonderful and so fun. If you choose to go to ASU and you have any interest in writing at all, please see if The Herald needs any staffers. You'll be glad you did. In 2004 I graduated with a Bachelor's in journalism. I then pursued my program of study in English literature, which I received the winter of 2004.
In January 2005, I began subbing in the Special Education Resource room at Izard County High School. In the fall of 2005 until June 2007, I taught English and yearbook. In August 2007, I began working as the gifted and talented teacher and yearbook adviser. In December 2009, I received my master's in Special Education - Gifted and Talented.
